about me

My music is supposed to be like me - lovely and joyful, but slightly worrisome. Like the most adorable child who just won't stop mocking you. Or the bird who sings beautifully and then shits on shirt, before flying away.

And me, I'm Elin Amanda, singer/songwriter and journalist living in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. I live here with my newly wedded husband and soon also our little child. Though we live in Stockholm my heart lies partly in Göteborg, on the salty swedish west coast, and partly in the quiet woods of Jämtland, in the north of Sweden.

As a child I was shy and imaginative. I loved pretty things, anything that was glittering, curly or shiny. I played the piano and wrote stories. As an adult I'm pretty much the same, though a little taller and more well educated. I have a masters degree in litterature, french and journalism. I'm an addict for beauty and I seek it mostly in music, litterature, art, nature and love.

As to singing, writing and creating I couldn't live without it. Since a couple of years now I've been singing together with amazing pianist Ola Jansson, who I met through my sister Anna Johansson. She's also a musician and plays the violin and the viola on my CD. I hope to work more together with my dear and gifted sister in the future. I must add also, that she's got two little doughters to whom I am the happiest aunt alive.
